1. The format is a scramble: Each person takes a shot from the tee.  The best ball is selected by the team captain and all players hit the next shot from that spot.  This process continues until the ball is holed.
 
2. Captain's Choice ball placement: The ball may be placed within one club length of the shot that is selected, but no closer to the hole.  The ball must remain in the same lie / surface.  For example, balls in the rough or in a hazard cannot be moved to the fairway.  On the green, balls must be placed within 6" of the spot selected, no closer to the hole.
 
3. Pace of play: Please keep up with the group in front of you and be ready to hit when it is your turn.  Limit ball searches whenever possible, especially if finding the lost ball is not likely to give your team an advantage in position.
 
4. Flighting: Tournament flight winners are decided after all scorecards are turned in.  You must turn in the official team scorecard by the announced time following the tournament to be eligible to win.  Since you don't know what flight you will be in, do your best on every hole!

$40 TIPOFF PACKAGE ENTITLES THE PLAYER WHO PURCHASES IT TO:

• 2 MULLIGANS - Two extra shots anywhere on the course.  Mulligans may be used on the green.
• 1 FREE THROW – One free throw anywhere on the course, with no stroke assessment.  For example, your team has taken two shots and you decide to use your free throw.  If the ball goes in the hole, your team records a "2" for their score.  If it doesn't go in, you can still elect to use the ball that was thrown.  You are then hitting your third shot from the spot where the ball ends up.
• BEAT THE VP CONTEST – On a selected par 3 hole, if you get closer to the pin than Rick Hunter, Vice President of HIRRS, you are entered in a drawing to win a gift basket valued at over $800.  The drawing will be held at the awards dinner.  Only balls on the green on the first shot are eligible to win.  No mulligans or free throws can be used for this contest.
• TEAM LONG DRIVE - All four players of the team must purchase the Tip Off Package to be eligible.  All drives in the fairway are totaled to give a team distance.  For those drives not in the fairway, twenty yards will be subtracted from the total distance.  The highest team distance wins each team player a $100 gift certificate to the Cheesecake Factory.  No mulligans or free throws can be used for this contest.
• CLOSEST TO THE PIN - All participants that purchase the Tip Off Package will be eligible to participate in the Closest to the Pin holes for men and women, along with the Hole-in-One contest.  No mulligans or free throws can be used for this contest.
• HOLE-IN–ONE – Two hole-in-one par 3’s will be on the course for the chance to win a car on one hole and an all expenses paid trip for two on the other.  Only one winner for each hole will be selected.  In the event of multiple hole-in-one’s by participants, names will be drawn from a hat to determine the sole winner.  No mulligans or free throws can be used for this contest.
• RAFFLE TICKETS – Ten raffle tickets will be given to each player for raffle drawings to win various gifts.
